Who is required to give notice to Arkansas One-Call?

If you use mechanized equipment or explosives to excavate or do demolition work in the state of Arkansas, you are required to give advanced notice to the One-Call Center.

What happens when you call 1-800-482-8998?

The customer service representative (CSR) will ask for information about the location and the type of work to be done. This information will be entered into a computer system, which will compare the information provided about the location to service area information provided by member utilities. If an overlap between the two occurs, the member utilities will receive a notice of your intent to excavate. The CSR will provide you with a reference number and a list of the member utilities that One-Call will notify. You should note both.

What type of information will I need to give to the Call Center?

  • The type of work being done
  • Excavator company name, phone number & mailing address
  • Your (the caller's) name & best call back number
  • County in which the work will take place
  • City or Town where the work will be done
    • If location is rural, please have the name of the nearest city or town you can give directions from
  • Street Address - if available
  • Nearest intersecting street & approximately how far the work site is from that intersection
  • Latitude & Longitude - if available
  • Where the work will take place at the site - rear, north side of the road, alley, etc.
  • Whether or not the work site has been marked in white
  • Who the work is being done for
  • How long it will take to do the work

What happens after the call?

From the date & time you call in a request, unless otherwise agreed to, the notified utilities have 2 working days to mark the work site.
