What do I need to know?

AOC Responsibilities

  • Record information from callers, including their identification and contact numbers, the starting date and anticipated duration of the work, the type of work being done, the specific location of the proposed work, and whether explosives will be used.
  • Notify, within four hours, all member utilities that have informed AOC they may have underground lines at the proposed excavation site.
  • Provide the caller with the names of the utilities that will be notified.
  • Maintain records of locate requests for a minimum of three years.
